Charlotte's resident classes are smaller than the Triangle's or Winston-Salem's: 390 trainees across the metro. If you're an attending, PA, pharmacist, dentist or optometrist relocating for a job with Atrium Health, Novant Health or a private practice, two Ameris rules matter most:
- The 10-year window. Ameris lists eligibility within 10 years of completing fellowship or residency. If you finished training a while ago, confirm your dates with Jill first.

Most attendings will be above the income limits, but a first-time buyer on a resident's or early-career salary may want to compare a statewide North Carolina Housing Finance Agency option such as NC Home Advantage.
